Our Coaching for Education programme has been carefully designed to maximise accessibility for teachers, tutors, and support staff across schools, colleges, and training providers. Unlike a regulated qualification, this programme removes barriers to entry while still providing the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to apply coaching and mentoring techniques effectively within an educational setting.
The programme introduces participants to the principles of coaching and mentoring, exploring how these approaches can empower learners, enhance professional relationships, and support personal and organisational growth. Through practical tools, guided reflection, and real-world applications, staff will learn how to:
Develop active listening and questioning skills
Facilitate solution-focused conversations
Build learner independence and self-motivation
Support colleagues through mentoring approaches
Embed a coaching culture within their classroom or wider institution
By the end of the programme, participants will be equipped to confidently integrate coaching and mentoring strategies into their day-to-day practice, creating positive impact for learners, colleagues, and the wider educational community.
This accessible, non-regulated pathway ensures that staff at all levels can benefit—whether new to coaching or looking to refine and expand their skills—without the additional requirements often attached to formal qualifications.
The Coaching for Education provides a short, introductory programme covering the essential skills and knowledge - without a regulated qualification to reduce the cost and wider the participation by teachers and support staff.
No prior qualifications are required. However, an interest in supporting others, good communication skills, and some experience of working with people will be beneficial.
Assessment is through multi-choice questions, reflective journals, and evidence of carrying out coaching/mentoring practice with at least one individual.
